Description

Truly Therapeutic Recreation provides recreation therapy services for people experiencing all types and stages of dementia – including Parkinson’s dementia. Our services are mobile and can be offered in private residences, retirement/assisted living, long-term care, or hospital. Clients enjoy meaningful activities that address their goals and recognize their unique strengths, needs, and personal preferences. Care partners take an essential respite break to honour their own needs and provide self-care. Programming is designed to create positive outcomes for our clients in all areas of well-being: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. Reverence for personhood is at the center of everything we do!

Area of expertise

Our Therapeutic Recreation Specialists are dementia experts with extensive education and years of clinical experience in the community, long-term care, and day program settings. Many of the clients we’ve worked with over the years have been those living with Parkinson’s dementia. We are well versed in the unique need these individuals have, and can provide evidence-based recreation therapy solutions to create positive outcomes and improve quality of life for people with dementia related to Parkinson’s Disease.
